at the 29th and Yale Church of Christ, 6:30 pm.This is a potluck, there will be no "meeting" other than perhaps a few announcements. Bring a dish to share and just enjoy kicking back and relaxing in a cool environment.

Mon., Sept. 10, 2018 - Family Health & Safety Fair, to be held at the 29th and Yale Church of Christ, 6:30 pm. Joining us will be Walgreen's, the American Red Cross, MedXpress and others who will have tables and giveaways. Feel free to bring a door prize or snack. We look forwarding to seeing you and your neighbors!

Mon., Oct. 8 - Open

Mon., November 12, 2018 - Winter Home Preparation - at the SCHOOL. There will be plenty of solid tips and advice from the experts. Feel free to bring a snack, door prize and a neighbor to this last meeting of the year!

Ed Stutsman coordinates the Block Captain program for the Hoover neighborhood, and a number of residents have already volunteered to be block captains. For more details, contact:

To get trained and join our Citizens Alert Patrol (patrolling in twos by car, about two hours a month), contact anyone on the Hoover Neighborhood Association board.

HELP A CHILD TO READ - Sign up to be a Reading Buddy with a student at Hoover Elementary School, 23rd and Darlington.

READ, DOWNLOAD A MOVIE OR AUDIO BOOK, EXPLORE - Visit our neighborhood public library, Nathan Hale Library, SW corner of 23rd and Sheridan. Find a great book, audiobook or video to challenge your mind. 

PLAY CHESS - Tuesday mornings during the school year - Chess Club, 7:00 to 7:30 a.m., in the Library at Hoover Elementary School. Join other neighborhood adults and children for this fun experience.

ENJOY OUR NEIGHBORHOOD PARK - 29th and Darlington. Comfy benches, a pavilion, tennis and basketball courts, playground equipment, peace and quiet and serene beauty. See our PARK page.
