Beautification

The City of Tulsa offers a Beautification Grant Program in which the Hoover Neighborhood Association hopes to participate. The program is funded by the George Kaiser Family Foundation and is designed to assist neighborhood and homeowners' associations registered with the City of Tulsa and registered non-profit organizations with beautification projects. Grants will match dollar-for-dollar other locally-raised funds and volunteer hours. Each project should give neighborhood-based and charitable organizations incentive to raise funds, build partnerships with businesses and cultivate the spirit of volunteerism with community support needed to complete a project. The process is designed to help groups complete a project dedicated to the improvement of their own lives and quality of life for all Tulsans.

Proposed projects must:
  • improve/beautify a city neighborhood or public space through a physical improvement;
  • involve neighborhood and community residents;
  • have long-standing, sustainable benefits greater than just aesthetic;
  • have all necessary plans before starting improvements; and
  • provide a maintenance plan for the upkeep of the completed project.
Hoover Neighborhood Association has availed our neighborhood of this opportunity by raising funds and getting matching grants to replace old structures and equipment and add new equipment (bicycle racks, water fountain) at Darlington Park. We hope you enjoy our neighborhood park!
